For this year’s International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Quintessential HealthCare Centre, Rayfield, Jos in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Plateau State Command, Federal Road Safety Corps, CHARIS Healthcare and Community Support Initiative, Nigerian Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealer, Corp Members,Students from a selected number of schools in the Jos metropolis, including other state and non-state actors held a road-walk campaign and awareness from the Old Airport Junction to Secretariat fly-over. The theme this year is ‘THE EVIDENCE IS CLEAR: INVEST IN PREVENTION’. all these institutions turned out in their numbers to educate the public about the dangers that accompany the abuse and addiction to drugs.
It was concluded with a press conference which was covered by some media houses in the city of Jos. Drug Abuse affects everyone because the negative results that accompany addiction causes harm to the society we all hope to protect. QHC is mandated to help reduce and prevent this menace, especially among young people.
Afterwards, QHC held a ‘TALK SHOW’ at the centre where staff & clients made presentations & speeches specifically on Drug Abuse Prevention treatment and recovery for all.
Drug abuse prevention is not the sole responsibility of any single entity but a shared commitment to the well-being of our youth. By working together, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another, we can build a comprehensive network of prevention that addresses the multifaceted nature of drug abuse.
